Mendy, who has nine caps for his country, has not played for France for more than a year and his recall is another positive step forward after a frustrating run of injuries for the powerful left-back.
Mendy enjoyed perhaps his best game of the campaign against Atalanta, with several of his swashbuckling runs forward a clear sign the former Monaco star is returning to peak fitness.

Meanwhile, John Stones joins Raheem Sterling in the England squad name on Thursday afternoon.
Stones hasn't played for his country since the summer but has 38 caps to date.
Sterling has been on blistering form for England and has so far scored eight goals during 2019.
England will look to seal qualification for next summer's tournament when they take on Montenegro and Kosovo later this month.
