The hosts took the lead through a 23rd minute strike from Kaj Sierhuis but England looked like claiming a draw after Mason Greenwood levelled with 15 minutes to go.

However, deep into stoppage time, the Netherlands claimed victory thanks to a superb 25-yard free-kick from Javairo Dilrosun.

Ilkay Gundogan played for the full 90 minutes as Germany recorded a resounding 6-1 win over Northern Ireland in their final Euro 2020 group qualifier.

Serge Gnabry scored a hat-trick, Leon Goretzka got two and Julian Brandt was on target after Michael Smith had opened the scoring with a super strike.

The match was a dead rubber with the hosts having already qualified for next summer's finals before kick-off and Northern Ireland assured of a place in the play-offs..
