NEW: The Premier League has introduced a mid-season break for the 2019/20 campaign.

Next season, for the first time ever, Manchester City’s Premier League schedule will include a winter break.

The new addition to the calendar will take place annually from 2019/20 and is set for February in the upcoming campaign.

City’s fixture list has now been confirmed and we know that the home game against West Ham United is the one to be affected by the break.

The round of matches in which we face the Hammers will be split over two weekends, with five games played on 8 February and five on 15 February.

This frees up one weekend in City’s schedule and we will find out on which date we’ll have no game when February’s TV selections are confirmed in mid-December.

The introduction of the winter break also sees some changes to the FA Cup.

From 2019/20, fifth round matches will be played in midweek, whilst replays have also been removed from this stage of the competition and replaced with extra-time and penalties in the initial tie.
