Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will name a host of key players in his squad for our forthcoming pre-season tour to Asia.

The back-to-back Premier League champions' squad to travel to China, Hong Kong and Japan will include Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne, Leroy Sané, Bernardo Silva, David Silva and Kyle Walker.

Fresh from our historic Fourmidables campaign of last season, which saw us become the first club to win all four English trophies, City will launch our build up to the new season with a Premier League Asia Trophy clash against West Ham United on Wednesday, July 17 kick-off 1.30pm (BST), 8.30pm (local time) at the Nanjing Olympic Stadium in Nanjing.

The match follows a meeting between Wolves and Newcastle at the same venue earlier that day kick-off 11am (BST).

City then travel to Hong Kong where we will play Hong Kong Premier League champions Kitchee FC at the Hong Kong Stadium on Wednesday, July 24 kick-off 1pm (BST), 8pm (local time)

We then wrap up our Asia tour by travelling to Japan for a friendly against City Football Group sister club Yokohama F Marinos. That game takes place at Yokohoma’s Nissan Stadium on Saturday, July 27 kick-off 11.30am (BST), 7.30pm (local time)

Looking ahead to the tour, City manager Guardiola said: “It’s a pleasure for me to take this group of players to Asia.

“I love working with them and for us to travel together, experience a different culture and play in front of new fans will be fantastic for everyone involved.

“If we want to continue the success we’ve enjoyed over the last two seasons, a positive pre-season is vital. I want my players to train and play with intensity during our time in Asia and I’m sure the games we have planned will be great to watch.

“I look forward to meeting the fans and beginning our preparations for the 2019-20 season.”

Full-back Walker said he and his colleagues were excited about heading out on tour.

“The Chinese fans are lovely, very passionate, they love the Premier League. It’s good to be going there and spread the City fanbase,” said Walker.

“It’s going to be great. To go to a different country, experience their culture, see the passion they have for the Premier League, it’s going to be fantastic. They are a part of the growing world of football.”
