Ederson says all friendship will be put aside on Sunday when City take on Liverpool.

The Brazilian keeper and his City team-mates are close with their Brazilian Liverpool counterparts, but with so much at stake in this fixture, they will revert to just Liverpool players for the duration of the game.

The Blues have Danilo, Fernandinho, Gabriel Jesus and Ederson, with the Reds having Roberto Firmino, Fabinho and Alisson Becker.

Off the pitch, the City No.1 revealed it’s a different matter.

“The Brazilian players at City and Liverpool have a good relationship and we meet-up whenever we can,” said Ederson.

“It’s a little bit difficult because of how the fixtures fall, but we have a very healthy relationship.

“I think it’s important we have friendship off the pitch.”

City lost in the Premier League and the Champions League at Anfield last season, shipping seven goals in the process.

Ederson is predicting a closely-fought match on Sunday, with the champions looking to extend the lead at the top of the table.

“It will be a huge game between two great teams and we are looking forward to the challenge,” he said.
