Pep Guardiola congratulated Wigan Athletic on their 1-0 win over City and had no arguments over Fabian Delph’s first-half dismissal.
Clearly disappointed at the Blues’ shock defeat, the Catalan conceded it wasn’t his team’s night and will now turn his players’ attention to Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Arsenal.
"Congratulations to Wigan,” said Pep.
"They scored from one shot on target from our one mistake.
"We created good chances but in these kind of games, sometimes you cannot score a goal.
"It was a final for us. I judge my players on their intention and their intention was good.
"We are out of the FA Cup. Now, we must rest for the final on Sunday.”
As for Delph’s dismissal, the Blues’ boss added: “It can happen in that kind of game with the fans’ reaction. They can punish you. It was a red card.”
