Now Aguero targets more success

LANDMARK: Sergio Aguero celebrates after scoring his second goal in the 2-0 Community Shield win over Chelsea

Sergio Aguero says Manchester City are hungry for even more success after he created another notable personal landmark as his brace took him past 200 goals to secure Community Shield glory for the Blues.

The Argentine striker scored in either half to secure a deserved 2-0 win for Pep Guardiola’s men over Chelsea in the traditional season curtain-raiser at a sun-drenched Wembley.

But rather than basking in the personal glory, Aguero instead said his and City’s focus was only trained on achieving more success.

“It was good to win the title so we are very happy and I am very happy to have scored but now we have to continue to win,” said Kun.

“Now it’s more important to win. The manager always says that we have to win, win, win so I am very happy.”

While the Community Shield was just the latest silverware for Aguero, for team-mate Riyad Mahrez, who joined the Blues earlier this summer, it was the first of hopefully many trophies.

And the Algerian attacking winger said he was already hugely enjoying life under Guardiola.

“You saw today that we keep the ball, we have a lot of chances and I am enjoying it,” said Mahrez.

“We played well and we won so it was perfect today."
