Nicolas Otamendi says City are lucky to have a striker like Sergio Aguero.

The Argentina defender watched his compatriot move ever closer to becoming the Club’s all-time record goal-scorer with his sixth successive home goal against Liverpool as the Blues won 5-0.

Aguero put City ahead on 24 minutes before unselfishly assisting Gabriel Jesus in the second-half as the Blues ran riot over Jürgen Klopp’s side.

“Sergio is crazy about the goal,” said . “He’s always in the right place at the right time and, if he’s the highest goal-scorer it is for a reason. He’s a very important player for us and I’m very happy to have him on my side.

“We were coming back after being with our national teams and didn’t had much time to prepare the game,” he added.

“Liverpool are always fighting for the top places, so it was important to get the win and the team worked really well to get it, so we’re happy.

“Now we will make some recovery tomorrow and then start preparing the game the same way we prepared today’s.

“Every Champions League match is tough, so we’ll try to do what Pep wants us to do.”
