Iheanacho to lead the line against Burnley

CHANCE: Kelechi handed rare start

CHANCE: Kelechi handed rare start

Pep Guardiola has made four changes to the side beaten by Liverpool on New Year’s Eve.

Kelechi Iheanacho is recalled in place of Sergio Aguero with Jesus Navas, Gael Clichy and Bacary Sagna also recalled.

Aguero, John Stones, David Silva and Pablo Zabaleta all start on the bench.

Starting XI:

Bravo, Sagna, Otamendi, Clichy, Kolarov, Fernandinho (c), Yaya Toure, Sterling, Navas, De Bruyne, Iheanacho

Subs: Caballero, Silva, Aguero, Garcia, Nolito, Zabaleta, Stones

STARTING XI: v Burnley

Vincent Kompany, Fernando, Leroy Sane, and Ilkay Gundogan are all unavailable with injury.

Given the line-up the Blues look likely to go 3-4-2-1 this afternoon - but could also go 4-2-3-1 depending on who starts in defence. Burnley played a 4-4-1-1 formation away to Spurs in their last away match and 4-4-2 in the previous game on the road away to West Ham United –it seems they've gone with an attacking 4-4-2 today.

BURNLEY: Starting XI

The Clarets’ back-to-back wins over Christmas mean they can come to the Etihad free of the added pressure of relegation worries.

Burnley are just four points off seventh-placed Everton and will believe they can take something back to Turf Moor with them this afternoon.

In Andre Gray they possess a striker in red-hot form with four goals in his last two games – he averages one goal every two matches since signing from Brentford in 2015 (56 appearances, 28 goals)

Stats and milestones:

  • Burnley have failed to score in 11 of their last 17 Premier League away games
  • City have never beaten the Clarets at home in the Premier League – two games, two draws
  • Burnley have beaten City just once in the last 15 meetings
  • It is 28 games since the Blues failed to beat a newly-promoted side at home (Reading, 2007)
  • City have won the first home game of the New Year on the past six occasions
