City players discover World Cup fate

WORLD CUP: City players have learned who they will face in the group stage.
Manchester City’s England contingent will face off against their Belgian counterparts in the group stage of the 2018 World Cup, while the Blues’ Spanish and Portuguese players will do the same.

Bernardo and David Silva will do battle after they were drawn in Group B alongside Morocco and Iran.

Portugal v Spain will be the first involvement any City players have in the tournament, with that game scheduled to take place at 7pm on Friday 15 June.

Eliaquim Mangala and Benjamin Mendy’s France were selected in Group C where they will face Denmark, Peru and Australia.

In Group D, the Argentina of Sergio Aguero and Nicolas Otamendi must play Iceland, Croatia and Nigeria as they look secure a place in the last 16.

Leroy Sane and Ilkay Gundogan will be hoping to represent Germany in Russia. Mexico, Sweden and South Korea stand between them and a spot in the knockout stages.

Belgium and England are the final two teams featuring City players and they’re set for a showdown in Group G when Vincent Kompany and Kevin De Bruyne could well go up against Fabian Delph, Raheem Sterling, John Stones and .

They’ll also play Panama and Tunisia.

Belgium v England is the final group game for both teams and kicks off at 7pm on Thursday 28 June.
