City: Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Otamendi, Clichy, Fernandinho, Fernando, Silva, Toure, Sterling, Aguero
Bench: Iheanacho, Aleix Garcia, Manu Garcia, Celina, Demichelis, Kolarov, Caballero
Possible formation and tactics:
The headline news is Vincent Kompany’s return in central defence for the first time since his ill-fated Boxing Day appearance against Sunderland. He will be tasked with shackling Harry Kane - not easy given the Londoner has already scored 15 Premier League goals this season. Kompany partners Nicolas Otamendi with Martin Demichlis dropping to the bench.
Brazilian duo Fernandinho and Fernando are in to bolster the midfield, while elsewhere City playmaker David Silva has shaken off a knock to make the starting line-up.
He, along with Sergio Aguero, could be key to unlocking the meanest defence in the division with Spurs having conceded just 19 times all season. On the flip side, Aguero loves playing against Tottenham and has scored 10 times in past encounters.
A youthful looking bench contains both Aleix and Manu Garcia, strike starlet Kelechi Iheanacho and Bersant Celina.
