Sky Sports: Pep

Screened on Sky Sports at 9.30pm on Monday night, a revealing documentary on Pep Guardiola featured some of football’s leading lights who all gave their insight into what it’s like to work with our new boss.

It was an A-list cast who spoke, including Xavi, Michael Laudrup, Thierry Henry, Sergio Busquets, Xabi Alonso, Robert Lewandowski and even Valenti Guardiola, Pep’s father.

Pep’s playing days, his managerial style and his interests away from the pitch were all up for discussion

If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s well worth tapping up someone with Sky and putting aside 45 minutes.

For Sky Go users, it’s available to watch in the UK here.

TheSetPieces.com: Goalmouth Scrambles: A study of footballing chaos by Adam Hurrey

Adam Hurrey AKA @FootballCliches, has provided one of football’s funniest, most original voices for a good few years now and his latest work is another masterpiece – a forensic study on the type of goals which never feature in your end-of-season compilations.

Hurrey points to the below from City v Blackpool in January 1988 as the perfect example of… “Any club allegiances aside, you do find yourself hoping for all this sweaty hopelessness to end in the fundamental objective of football being achieved. Perhaps with the last kick of the game. When the attacking team are 1-0 down. Kicking towards the goal with all their fans behind it. Oh just watch it."

This week’s episode is imminent and promises to be a Premier League preview, of sorts, and will no doubt be worth 50 or so minutes of your commute.

CityStore: The “John Stones jacket”

Sorry for the shameless plug but this is one beautiful jacket. Nike’s new range of City threads have been well-received by supporters, especially this number which John Stones wore for his first interview as a City player…

A lovely job… buy it from the CityStore here.

Kosovare Asllani

Kosovare Asllani’s Sweden are safely through to the knockout stages in the Women’s football tournament at the Olympics with two wins and it certainly looks like the MCWFC star is enjoying herself in Brazil on the evidence of these sublime skills…
