David Silva says City were worthy winners against PSG and thoroughly deserve a first Champions League semi-final berth.

The Spanish play-maker left the field to a standing ovation for his part in the 1-0 victory over the Parisians and now the World Cup winner says anything is possible for the buoyant Blues.

“We protected the result we achieved in Paris and tonight, they didn’t create many chances,” said Silva.

“We even missed a penalty kick and produced some good counter-attacks until Kevin scored at the perfect time.

“We never stopped believing, even when Sergio missed. We just keep going. The match is very long and despite the penalty, the team was very focused from start to finish.

“The manager is very happy but now we have to think about Saturday’s game against Chelsea. We have two league games in a very short space of time and we have to perform well.

“It’s not easy to get to the semi-final but we are doing the right things. We won the title for the first time in 44 years and then wanted to go further in the Champions League and that’s a reality now.

“Any team we may play in the semi-finals will be tough so we’ll be happy being drawn with anyone.

“It’s difficult to win the Premier League, but we have to try to finish as high in the table as we can and secure Champions League football for the next season.

“We’ve had two tough games against a great side. We played well in Paris and got a good result which has helped us to be more relaxed here tonight.”
