PSG boss Laurent Blanc is in a confident mood ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League quarter final second leg at the Etihad.
He stated: “PSG is capable of qualifying, but we know how difficult it will be.
“City played extremely well in Paris and have top quality players going forward. We need to be more solid at the back, close down spaces as well.
Blanc continued: “If we leave them space, they really exploit it. We need to be compact and play our own game as well.”
“We’ve analysed the first game and looked at the errors we’ve made. There was too wide a gap between players and opened too much space for City.
“When you think of the players they’ve got, they create a lot of chances.”
The two sides head into the game on level terms after drawing 2-2 in the first leg and the PSG manager is adamant that his side needs to work a lot harder at the Etihad in order to gain a positive result.
“We could have finished that game a lot better. We knew we hadn’t played a fantastic game, but we weren’t dominated.
“We expected a different outcome but we need to work harder than we did in the home leg.
“If we do take risks, we need to make sure we’re successful with them. Sometimes you lose the ball in midfield and that’s where we build up our game.
“That’s our game, and that’s what we’ll do tomorrow. If we lose possession, we need to be quick in getting it back and don’t allow the City players the space we allowed them week.
“We’ve got nothing to hide, we know how we want to play tomorrow and it’s up to us to be as effective as we can.”
When questioned on star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Blanc believes that the 34-year old will be on target again if he’s supplied a similar level of chances to the game at the Parc des Princes.
“We’re always a bit surprised when Zlatan misses a chance. When you’re a top goalscorer like him, you can miss a couple of chances and, unfortunately, for us he missed them in that game.
“He still scored though. He’s someone who is extremely demanding of himself. He wants to show something else tomorrow, he wants to be more clinical in front of goal.
“If we create as many chances as the first leg tomorrow, I think his conversion rate will be a lot higher.”
Midfielder Thiago Motta also appeared in front of the press at the Etihad and stated that the second leg will be a fantastic occasion to be involved in.
“We know before a match like this we’ve got to be well prepared and know what we have to do to get in the semi-final. It’s going to be a great match to be involved in.”
The 33-year old Italian spoke of his admiration for City midfielder Yaya Toure, but warned journalists that they can’t focus on one particular player as City have quality throughout their team.
“Yaya is an excellent player, we know that. You don’t need me to tell you that.
“He’s shown what a great player he is throughout his career. He’s a top quality player with lots of good qualities. We can’t just focus on him, they’ve got a lot of quality players.”
