Hart: Sterling can set the world alight

Joe Hart has backed his club and international teammate Raheem Sterling to take the world by storm in the coming years.

City and England’s no.1 has taken time out from international duty to reveal just how impressed he’s been by the club’s summer signing since he joined in July.

Sterling, who has taken quickly to Etihad Stadium, has made ten appearances for City and is likely to win his 18th international cap when England take on Estonia on Friday night.

Hart said: "Raheem never shows that the pressure from City or England supporters is getting to him — it’s pretty obvious when you’re around him.

"He has coped with it really well. He is an excellent player, a really good person.

"He is someone who has at least 10-15 years left in football and to set the world stage alight.

"I am a massive fan of Raheem. He has brought a new dimension to the Manchester City team and has settled in really well.

"It was a tough time in the media and from the outside before his move but he was perfectly fine and very excited to start his new chapter at Manchester City."

England will be looking to make it nine wins from nine in Euro 2016 qualification Group E when they take on Estonia at Wembley.

However, Joe is more interested in competing for the trophy next summer than finishing with a perfect record from qualifying.

“Crowning this all would be winning the tournament,” Joe declared. “These are two games that we are looking to win, as we have done all the games so far, and we’ve accomplished that.

"It’s two more games working on the way we want to play in France, and then we move on.

“It’s still two games away from happening, but I don’t see it being that great an achievement unless we go and do well in the tournament itself.

“I definitely feel there is a great deal of belief in the squad. We feel good as a squad."
