Seko Fofana has been a regular star of Loan Watch on mcfc.co.uk so far this season and his good form continued on Saturday…

The French midfielder netted his first Ligue 1 goal as Bastia SC drew 1-1 with Estac Troyes at Stade de l’Aube.

Fofana exchanged passes with Floyd Ayite and touched the ball instinctively into the far corner past Paul Bernadoni to give Bastia the lead over Ligue 1’s basement side.

Watch the highlights here.

Sadly for Seko, Jimmy Cabot equalised in the second half, meaning Bastia stay just three points clear of the drop zone in the French top flight.

It was also a good weekend for Jack Byrne and his SC Cambuur side as they chalked up a timely win in the Dutch Eredivisie.

The Ireland u21 international scored his first professional goal for Cambuur with a free-kick as they beat NEC 3-1 and moved to within three points of FC Twente and pulled five points clear of De Graafschap who are bottom.

Great feeling to score my first goal last night but more importantly get the 3 points ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„ fansโ€ฆ https://t.co/lXb7Bg0dw1

Meanwhile, French midfielder Olivier Ntcham was an 83rd minute substitute for Genoa as they lost 1-0 at home to Bologna, meaning they dropped to 16th in the Serie A table.

Ian Lawlor joined Barnet on an emergency loan deal at the weekend and he made his professional debut just hours later against Yeovil.

The Ireland u21 international was involved in an entertaining 2-2 draw which left the Bees 19th in League Two.

Delighted to make my league debut for @BarnetFC today! Thanks to the fans & everyone for there support ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿผ

George Evans celebrated his 21st birthday last weekend but he was not in action for Walsall as their game away at Fleetwood Town was called off.

The Saddlers are level on points with second place Coventry in the League One table and now have a game in hand.

Evans has enjoyed a dream start to life at the Bescot Stadium and apparently there is already a queue of Championship clubs lining up for his loan signature in January.

Brentford, Burnley, MK Dons, Sheffield Wednesday and Wolverhampton Wanderers are all reportedly interested in taking the midfielder’s services when his deal with Walsall comes to an end on January 9.

Thank you to everyone for the Birthday wishes had an amazing day! Blessed to have such good people around me #21 ๐ŸŽ‚โค๏ธ

Elsewhere, Brandon Barker was introduced too late to help reverse a 1-0 deficit at Ewood Park as Rotherham went down 1-0 to Blackburn in the Championship.

The 19-year old came on with just two minutes remaining as the Millers stayed in the relegation zone for another week.

That proved to be his last appearance for the club as he returned to City on Tuesday.

Bruno Zuculini was an unused substitute for Middlesbrough in their 0-0 draw against Birmingham, while Ghanian midfielder Thomas Agyepong missed FC Twente’s draw with Excelsior with a hamstring injury and Divine Naah was a late substitute in NAC Breda’s 1-0 defeat to Go Ahead Eagles.

Enes Unal also played no part for his side Genk as they were held to a goalless stalemate by Westerlo in the Belgian Pro League.
