We made the perfect start as Knight curled a superb shot into the top left-corner in the sixth minute. We had a flurry of chances to double the lead throughout the encounter and eventually sealed the win through Fiorini's rolled finish with ten minutes to go.
Paul Harsley’s men started with great intensity and zipped the ball around the perfect surface. Tottenham were pressing high and in the sixth minute, our fast start paid off.
Captain Tommy Doyle found space in the middle of the pitch and found Ben Knight on the right flank, who cut inside and curled a wonderful shot into the top left corner.
There were no signs of City slowing down and again Doyle was at the heart of some wonderful passing, sending Jayden Braaf through on goal with a wonderfully weighted through ball, but the winger was flagged offside.
The visitors began to settle into the game and full-back Tariq Hinds found some space just inside the 18-yard box but dragged his shot wide of Gavin Bazunu’s post.
The young Blues continued to dominate possession and found a way through Tottenham’s defence yet again. Alpha Diounkou’s deep cross from the right flank made its way to the unmarked Fiorini at the back post, but he blazed over from close range.
It was Fiorini again who went close ten minutes before the interval, receiving the ball and unleashing a powerful shot from 25 yards, but Josh Oluwayemi did well to save.
The visitors then created their best chance of the half after City lost the ball at the back. Striker Rodel Richards spun inside the box and fired towards goal from eight yards, but Bazunu saved expertly with his leg.
We went into the break with a deserved lead and came racing out of the blocks again in the second period, with Braaf curling over from a promising position on the left wing.
With the clock ticking towards the hour mark, we had a glorious chance to double our lead. Wonderful play by Doyle resulted in the midfielder delivering a vicious cross straight to Keke Simmonds inside the six-yard box, but his shot was incredibly tipped over by Oluwayemi.
With just over 20 minutes remaining, Simmonds was denied again in spectacular fashion. He met an accurace cut-back with a powerful shot, but the ball was deflected over for a corner. A few minutes later, we came inches within doubling our lead. Centre-back Taylor Harwood-Bellis unleashed a shot from 25 yards but the ball cannoned back off the post.
With ten minutes to go, we finally got the second goal that our dominance deserved as Fiorini calmly slotted the ball under Oluwayemi after being put through on goal.
Harsley’s men kept the ball for the final few moments as we sealed a deserved victory.
