Dates and times confirmed for City's UYL campaign

Dates and kick-off times have now been confirmed for City’s Under-19s UEFA Youth League 2019/20 campaign.

Paul Harsley’s young charges, who have been drawn with Shakhtar Donetsk, Atalanta and Dinamo Zagreb, will open our Group C campaign away to Shakhtar Donetsk Under-19s on Wednesday, September 18 at the FA Metalist training ground with kick-off set for 1pm local time (11am BST).

City then entertain Dinamo Zagreb Under-19s at the Academy Stadium in our first home encounter on Tuesday, October 1st, kick-off 3pm (BST).

That’s followed by another home tie, this time with Atalanta Under-19s the visitors, on Tuesday, October 22nd, kick-off again set for 3pm (BST).

City’s youngsters then travel to Italy for the return encounter with Atalanta’s youngsters on Wednesday, November 6th, kick-off set for 2pm local time (1pm GMT). The venue has still to be confirmed.

Our final home group fixture will be against Shakhtar Donetsk’s Under-19s on Tuesday, November 26th, again at the Academy Stadium for a 3pm kick-off (BST).

And we round off the Group C campaign away in Croatia, travelling to the Hitrec Kacijan training ground to take on Dinamo Zagreb Under-19s on Wednesday December 11th, kick-off 1pm local time, 12noon GMT.

The other groups are as follows: 

Group A: Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Club Brugge, Galatasaray

Group B: Bayern Münich, Tottenham Hotspur, Olympiacos, Red Star Belgrade

Group D: Juventus, Atlético Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Lokomotiv Moscow

Group E: Liverpool, Napoli, Salzburg, Genk

Group F: Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, Slavia Prague

Group G: Zenit, Benfica, Lyon, RB Leipzig

Group H: Chelsea, Ajax, Valencia, LOSC Lille

The eight group winners will progress straight to the round of 16.

The eight runners-up will go into the play-offs against the winners from the domestic champions path, who will emerge after two knockout rounds featuring 32 initial entrants.

Latibeaudiere reveals team meeting inspired EDS

FIGHTING TALK: City EDS held a team meeting ahead of their victory over Liverpool.

A team meeting called by the players proved to be the catalyst for City’s Elite Development Squad’s (EDS) first Premier League 2 win of the season.

After the 4-1 win at Liverpool, Joel Latibeaudiere revealed the group met earlier in the week to discuss recent performances.

City EDS are up and running in the Premier League 2 after an emphatic 4-1 victory over Liverpool secured a first win of the season.
