City EDS v Fulham U21s: Match preview

City EDS are hoping to complete a league double over Fulham at the Academy Stadium on Friday afternoon (Kick-off 3pm) and move within three points of leaders Manchester United.

Patrick Vieira’s side have lost their last three Barclays Under-21 Premier League fixtures and have only picked up six out of a possible 21 points during a run that stretches back to the start of December so will be keen to beat a Cottagers side that is currently second- bottom of Division One.

Goals from Sinan Bytyqi and Brandon Barker secured a 2-0 win in the first meeting between the sides in October with the Blues ending Fulham’s unbeaten start to the campaign.

The compact nature of the table means the visitors are only one point behind City going into this game and have shown good form of late beating leaders Manchester United and third-placed Chelsea.

With basement side West Ham to come next week, Vieira will be looking for his team to go into the UEFA Youth League quarter-final against Roma on 17 March with their tails up.

Tickets for the game - which starts at 3pm - are available and we’ll have live Twitter updates on the official account, as well as a match report and highlights here on mcfc.co.uk.
