City were flying right from the first whistle, with two goals inside five minutes.
Ogwuru opening the scoring with just two minutes gone on the clock, before Barrington had doubled our lead three minutes later, converting a cutback from Mebude, who had also assisted Ogwuru for the first.
Then Mebude turned scorer, as he was set up by Ogwuru to extend our lead to three with only 12 minutes played.
It was a blistering opening period that saw City take complete control.
Into the second half, Ogwuru scored just before the hour mark for his second, before completing his hat-trick just three minutes later.
The hosts would pull one back from Richards' curling effort, but Ogwuru soon restored our five-goal advantage in the 74th minute to seal a commanding win for the Under-18s.
HOW WE LINED UP
The midfield three was made up of Matty Whittingham alongside Adam and Joel Ndala whilst Barrington, Mebude and Ogwuru were the attacking trio against the Rams.
WHAT IT MEANS
The three points from Ben Wilkinson's side sees us climb to second in the table thanks to a superior goal difference.
We have also closed the gap to leaders Blackburn Rovers down to five points, with a game in hand over the Lancashire side.
Our Under-18s are next in action after the international break, when we will take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League Under-18 Cup. That game gets under way at 11:00 (UK) on Saturday 16 October.
And our next Premier League Under-18 fixture sees us host Liverpool at the City Football Academy. Kick-off is at midday (UK) on Saturday, 23 October.
