Manchester City’s ‘Treble Trophy Tour’ was announced yesterday, bringing our trophies closer to fans in Manchester and around the world.

Following this announcement, the trophies’ first visit was to a very special supporter to celebrate our historic achievement.

City supporter Geoffrey Rothband turns 103 in August, and has followed the Club since the 1920s.

Incredibly, it means that he has witnessed City win all nine of our English top flight titles, with the first coming in 1936/37.

Indeed, the only major honour which Geoffrey wasn’t able to celebrate was our first, when we lifted the FA Cup in 1904.

For many though, our 2022/23 haul eclipses all the achievements of the past, with Pep Guardiola’s men crowned Champions of Europe for the first time in our history following a 1-0 win over Inter in June.

And Geoffrey was able to share in that poignant moment with four generations of his family, with the three trophies brought to his bedside.

Lifelong City supporter, Barry Carr, lives in the same care home as Geoffrey, and was also able to celebrate the triumph as part of the Club’s visit.

Barry, 85, lives with dementia but was filmed cheering his beloved blues on during our dramatic 2021/22 Premier League final day triumph over Aston Villa, even remembering some of our famous City chants.
