Man City Esports can confirm esports players Ryan Pessoa and Shaun ‘Shellzz’ Springette will be departing the Club after five seasons.

Both have been prolific figures in our rapidly growing esports coverage and community.

19 years old at the time, Shellzz was City’s second esports signing on 13 December 2018. Since then, he has gone on to win the ePremier League as well as tallying the joint highest qualifications for the FIFA eClub World Cup.

Almost a year later, in November 2019, Ryan joined City ahead of the FIFA 20 campaign and has matched Shellzz’ tally of joint highest qualifications for the FIFA eClub World Cup.

The duo have gone on to compete in the most prominent FIFA competitions around the globe, most recently, at the FIFAe Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia earlier this month.

When not competing in esports events, Ryan and Shellzz have travelled the world with the esports team for content features, including visits to the likes of EXPO Dubai and TwitchCon Amsterdam in 2022.

And the players often visited the City Football Academy for content shoots, including challenging City players to a game or two of FIFA.

Ryan and Shellzz have been a vital part of the Manchester City Esports journey, and we’d like to thank them for their service and contributions over the past five years.

Everyone at City would like to wish them the very best of luck in their next career steps.
