It has taken Jamie 54 days to make his epic journey across the Atlantic, battling harsh winds, waves, heat and loneliness, as well as some following sharks!
Throughout 2022, Jamie set himself two extreme challenges as part of his campaign all in aid of raising money for City in the Community and the Cancer Fund for Children in his native Ireland.
Jamie would like to say a huge thank you to Manchester City’s Official Supporters Club, Axi, CTM, Image Group and Conferma Pay for supporting and sponsoring his campaign.
Jamie has previously run six ultra-marathons in six days across the Sahara Desert during the Marathon Des Sables, in March 2022 as part of the first challenge of his campaign.

Jamie has spent up to two months on his own rowing the world’s toughest ocean as part of the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Rowing Challenge. Rowing up to 16 hours a day, navigating storms, sharks and loneliness, Jamie had a huge challenge on his hands.
At any time throughout the row, the closest person to Jamie could have been on the international space station.
Commenting on completing his challenge Jamie said: “There is absolutely nothing on this earth compared to what I just went through.”
“It's been an absolute emotional rollercoaster - so many lows and a few highs but arriving was a sweet moment. Seeing that my family and others have come out to see me makes me really emotional.”
“It's safe to say I'm never doing a solo row again! I thought I'd be OK because I like my own company but that's a different ball game all together.
"I can't describe to you the degrees of emotion you go through when you're out there on your own, but we got there in the end with a big team effort.
“What a relief to be on dry land. I hit rock bottom this week, it's been some of the toughest moments of my life.
“I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone.”
Jamie has worked with City's Academy teams for more than four years.
Though having coached some of the very best junior age players at City, it was his experience teaching children in rural India where his ambition to champion opportunities for disadvantaged children first took root, inspiring Jamie’s incredible next steps and fundraising efforts.
City in the Community’s portion will support its mental health programme, City Thrive, which supports people in Manchester under the age of 25, in partnership with the NHS.
