Blues on the Green tees up another success

Blues on the Green tees up another success
City in the Community’s popular golf day, Blues on the Green, made a successful return to Mottram Hall last week.

The event saw 20 teams take to the 18-hole course alongside a number of guests, Club partners and City legends Paul Dickov and Joe Corrigan.

As well as completing the round, the 76 golfers had the opportunity to show off their skills and win individual prizes by taking part in a variety of challenges including nearest the pin and longest drive.

In addition, there was also a Beat the Pro competition featuring ex-professional Sophie Walker with just 10 of the 76 competitors managing to get closer than Sophie on the par 3 third hole.

After an enjoyable and competitive day on the fairways, the BDO Team came out on top ahead of Bentley Manchester and Music Magpie2.

The event helped to raise £14,900 towards City in the Community (after all event costs have been deducted).

The much-needed funds raised will be invested in to CITC’s new City Thrive programme which is working in partnership with the NHS to support the mental health and well-being of thousands of young people across Manchester.

CITC would like to thank our partners Puma Cobra Golf, Bentley Manchester, musicMagpie, and Crep Protect for their fantastic support and to everyone who took part.

In the wake of the success of this event and the amazing demand for team entries CITC have decided to add an additional golf event to our2020/ 21 season fundraising calendar.

The next Blues on the Green event will take place on Thursday 27th May at Stockport Golf Club -  a championship-standard golf course widely regarded as one of the finest courses in the North West.
