Next Monday, a team of Manchester City staff, including former players Patrick Vieira and Paul Lake, will embark on a week-long tour of Ireland.

The tour, which takes in Limerick, Donegal and Cookstown will provide over 300 budding footballers aged between 6 and 16 the chance to receive some free professional coaching from the club’s highly qualified staff.

Alongside the soccer schools, World Cup winner Vieira will spend a morning at St. Gabriel’s school in Limerick; a school attended by 47 local children with a range of special needs. The pupils and staff of St. Gabriel’s have been busy preparing for their date with the French star.

There will also be three Official City Supporters Club events taking place during the tour giving Irish Blues the chance to get up close and personal with City legend Paul Lake and get their photograph taken with The FA Cup.

There are 17 Official City Supporters Clubs in Ireland and Northern Ireland, with close to 650 members in total. The oldest has been in existence for over 30 years.

We’re very excited about the opportunity to visit our Irish and Northern Irish supporters, and thank them for their support.

Paul Lake, CITC Ambassador

Mcfc.co.uk’s Chris Nield will be reporting from the tour each day to keep you up to date with all the behind the scenes goings-on during the Blues’ Emerald Isle visit.
