Thousands of Cityzens had their say on what message should be revealed when the team comes out of the Wembley tunnel. Thousands more also submitted photos showing what it means to them to follow City, with the best ones chosen to go on display in the players’ dressing room before the big match.
Fans were given a choice of lyrics to five famous City anthems, with the winning wording being chosen to adorn the two huge banners on show in the City end throughout the final. The design of our giant fan banners will remain a secret until they are unveiled on the day, but we can reveal that with 38% of the vote the winning banner is: ‘Blue Moon – You Saw Me Standing Alone’.
‘We are City – Super City’ was a close second, with ‘The Best Team in the Land and All the World’ finishing third.
In addition to the banner vote, Cityzens submitted thousands of pictures to be in with a chance of featuring on our special fan display in the Wembley dressing room. Out of all these submissions 132 images were picked for our wall of fan images, which will greet Pep Guardiola’s squad in the dressing room as they prepare for the final.
