Manchester City U18s remain on course to top the north group of the Premier League unbeaten after a 2-2 draw at Manchester United.
Goals from Brahim Diaz and Phil Foden saw City equalise twice in the second half after a long period of pressure on the United goal.
City had the first chance of the match with Tom Dele-Bashiru thundering a right-footed volley against the post from 20 yards.
That seemed to be the standout moment of an even first half in which the ball spent a lot of time changing hands in the centre of the pitch.
However, moments before the half-time whistle United winger Callum Gribbin weaved through City’s defence and curled an unstoppable effort past Pawel Sokol.
The introduction of Jadon Sancho for the second half gave City a new lease of life and they dominated much of the ball.
United had a chance to double their lead after Sokol fouled United striker Josh Bohui but first half scorer Gribbin fired the penalty over.
City made United pay for that only minutes later as Brahim Diaz wriggled through the defence and poked home from a few yards.
That looked to put City on top but United midfielder DJ Buffonge arrived late to a cross and headed the hosts back into the lead.
City were in a determined mood at this stage though and after Jadon Sancho's shot was saved, Phil Foden followed up by firing into the roof of the net to seal a point.
