What happened...

Jadon Sancho's hat-trick saw Manchester City to 14 matches unbeaten in the U18 Premier League in a 4-1 thumping of Blackburn Rovers.

The England youth international scored at both ends of the first half to put Lee Carsley's team in control.

Although John Buckley pulled one back for the visitors in the second half, City held out until Ian Carlo Poveda and Sancho again hit stoppage time strikes to earn City the three points.

Lee Carsley's side have 34 points from their opening fourteen games in the U18 Premier League and remain unbeaten.

City travel to Reading on Thursday 15 December in the third round of the FA Youth Cup.

Pawel Sokol continued with his place in goal.

Ed Francis was named as captain and played alongside Colin Rosler at centre-back. Matt Smith continued on the right while Jeremie Frimpong played left-back.

In midfield, Iker Pozo sat behind Tom Dele-Bashiru and Phil Foden while Jadon Sancho and Luke Bolton flanked central striker Lorenzo Gonzalez.
