Wolves v City u18s: Match preview

City u18s will be aiming to extend their lead at the top of the table when they travel to Wolves on Wednesday afternoon.

Jason Wilcox’s men made it 13 wins in a row when they triumphed in the Manchester derby, emerging 2-0 victors over neighbours United on Saturday.

Two goals from in-form striker Thierry Ambrose took his tally to 14 for the season in all competitions.

The boy Blues are riding high, five points clear at the top of the u18 Premier League and looking to widen the gap over Everton in second place.

Meanwhile, Wolves have won their last two league fixtures, winning 4-3 against Aston Villa after thrashing Stoke 6-1.

These two sides are yet to face each other this season, with the return fixture scheduled for March. However, the spoils were shared last season, with City suffering defeat in the Black Country but exacting their revenge at Platt Lane – when a Jack Byrne strike was the difference between the two teams.

Kick off is at 1pm at the Sir Jack Hayward Training Ground (WV3 9DU). We’ll have a match report right here on mcfc.co.uk after full time.
