Travelling by Car

Fans can drive, hire a private taxi, or jump in a hackney carriage to get to the Etihad Stadium.

Parking

Car Parking must be pre-booked on a match-by-match basis.

Parking goes on sale for a match once its date and kick-off time has been confirmed.

Parking spaces are prioritised for Season Ticket Members and availability is issued on a first-come-first-served basis with one space allowed per fan. Any remaining spaces will be released to General Admission fans.

Parking costs £12 for two or more passengers and £14 for solo drivers.

Book Now

As a vehicle passes an Auto Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) camera, its registration number is read and instantly checked against the Club’s database of pre-booked parking which allows supporters to drive straight into the car park.

You can change your car registration by completing an online form no later than 4 hours before kick-off here.

A resident parking scheme is in place in the streets around the Etihad Stadium and this is strictly enforced and identified through on-street signage. Please do not park in these areas as you will be fined and your vehicle may be clamped or removed.

Postcodes for each car park can be found below:

Blue car park (gate 2): M11 3DU
Orange car park (gate 3): M11 4TA
Green car park: M11 3FY
Vermillion Restaurant: M40 8AD

Accessible Parking

Widened or standard-sized Blue Badge parking spaces can be booked in the Orange and Blue Car Parks. On matchdays, these pre-booked spaces are issued on a first-come-first-served basis.

You will need to register your Blue Badge with the Access Team to be able to book accessible parking; please send a copy of both sides of your Blue Badge to [email protected], or bring it to the Fan Support counter located in the club shop. Once approved, you will be able to book Blue Badge parking here.

We operate a deposit scheme for Blue Badge parking, as part of our effort to improve utilisation of the spaces. This means that:

  • Blue Badge holders will pay a deposit for their space when booking:
  • £6 for cars with two or more people (multiple occupancy)
  • £7 for cars with one person only (single occupancy).
  • If you use your reserved parking space on matchday, we will refund your payment. This will be repaid within 3 weeks of matchday.
  • If you cancel your reservation ahead of kick-off on matchday, you will also receive a full refund.

If you book Blue Badge parking but do not cancel and do not use it on matchday, you will not receive a refund. Instead, your payment will be donated to City in the Community.

An accessible buggy service will be in operation for supporters who require assistance. This complimentary service operates pre and post-match, subject to any operational security changes.

Pre-match pick-up points – The buggy will depart from the bottom of Joe Mercer Way, inside the Blue Car Park. Once arriving at the top of Joe Mercer Way, you will disembark the buggy and walk the pedestrianised walkway to your stadium entrance.

Post-match - The service will operate after the final whistle once it is safe to do so. This may take up to 30 minutes to allow pedestrians to safely leave the stadium.

Additional Information

Fans also have the option of parking at one of Metrolink's park-and-ride spots where they can benefit from free parking. This is especially helpful when parking is sold out on a matchday.

Although there are over 20 park and ride spots across the Metrolink Network, we recommend using one of the following as they travel directly to the Etihad Campus.

  • Ashton Moss (Ashton line) - 183 spaces and 12 disabled spaces - under 25 minutes on a direct service from Etihad Campus.
  • Ashton West (Ashton line) - 184 spaces and 11 disabled spaces - under 30 minutes on a direct service from Etihad Campus.
  • Ladywell (Ashton-Eccles line) - 332 spaces and 22 disabled spaces - under 45 minutes on a direct service from Etihad Campus.

The next two options are for if you are travelling from further afield. They are both on the Bury Line.

  • Whitefield (Bury line) - 331 spaces and 13 disabled spaces - under 40 minutes from the Etihad.
  • Radcliffe (Bury line) - 480 spaces and 22 disabled spaces - under 45 minutes from the Etihad.

For further information on the Metrolink, visit here.

There are thousands of car parking space available in Manchester city centre for fans. This includes car parks near the city's universities, such as Booth Street West car park off Oxford Road.

The walk to the Etihad Stadium is approximately 30 minutes from Booth Street West car park. If you have to drive, we encourage fans to take a look at Transport for Greater Manchester's city centre parking map (please note this map shows locations only) or consider using a Metrolink Park and Ride site.

Road closures operate immediately after the event to allow pedestrians to leave the Etihad Stadium safely. This is in place for approximately 20 minutes after the match. This is, however, subject to Greater Manchester Police approval and may be in place for longer than stated above. Roads affected by the closure are as follows:

  • Ashton New Road – between Alan Turing Way and Hillkirk Street
  • Grey Mare Lane – between Ashton New Road and Alan Turing Way

In the event that there are unique road closures, we will communicate this to fans. For further information about the match-by-match updates, visit here.

We understand that things change.

When fans can no longer attend a match, and they have booked parking, we ask them to inform us of us this so we can give their spot to another fan. They will also receive a full refund on the price of their car parking.

If you can no longer attend, please complete this quick and easy form.
