We operate a deposit scheme for Blue Badge parking for Manchester City matches, as part of our effort to improve utilisation of the spaces. This means that:

Blue Badge holders will pay a refundable deposit for their space when booking for Manchester City football matches:

  • £6 for cars with two or more people (multiple occupancy)
  • £7 for cars with one person only (single occupancy).
  • If you use your reserved parking space on matchday, we will refund your payment within 3 weeks of matchday.
  • If you cancel your reservation ahead of kick-off on matchday, you will also receive a full refund.

If you book Blue Badge parking but do not cancel and do not use it on matchday, you will not receive a refund. Instead, your payment will be donated to City in the Community.

An accessible buggy service will be in operation for supporters who require assistance. This complimentary service operates pre and post-match, subject to any operational security changes.

Pre-Event pick-up points – The buggy will depart from the bottom of Joe Mercer Way, inside the Blue Car Park. Once arriving at the top of Joe Mercer Way, you will disembark the buggy and walk the pedestrianised walkway to your stadium entrance.

Should there be too many pedestrians, the service will be suspended and will resume once it is safe to do so.

Post-Event- The service will operate once it is safe to do so. This may take up to 30 minutes to allow pedestrians to safely leave the stadium.

A resident parking scheme is in place in the streets around the Etihad Stadium and this is strictly enforced and identified through on-street signage. Please do not park in these areas as you will be fined and your vehicle may be clamped or removed.

There are thousands of car parking space available in Manchester city centre for fans. This includes car parks near the city's universities, such as Booth Street West car park off Oxford Road.

Fans also have the option of parking at one of Metrolink's park-and-ride spots where they can benefit from free parking. This is especially helpful when parking is sold out on a matchday.

Although there are over 20 park and ride spots across the Metrolink Network, we recommend using one of the following as they travel directly to the Etihad Campus.

  • Ashton Moss (Ashton line) - 183 spaces and 12 disabled spaces - under 25 minutes on a direct service from Etihad Campus.
  • Ashton West (Ashton line) - 184 spaces and 11 disabled spaces - under 30 minutes on a direct service from Etihad Campus.
  • Ladywell (Ashton-Eccles line) - 332 spaces and 22 disabled spaces - under 45 minutes on a direct service from Etihad Campus.

The next two options are for if you are travelling from further afield. They are both on the Bury Line.

  • Whitefield (Bury line) - 331 spaces and 13 disabled spaces - under 40 minutes from the Etihad.
  • Radcliffe (Bury line) - 480 spaces and 22 disabled spaces - under 45 minutes from the Etihad.

For further information on the Metrolink, visit here.

Road closures operate immediately after the event to allow pedestrians to leave the Etihad Stadium safely. This is in place for approximately 20 minutes after the event. This is, however, subject to Greater Manchester Police approval and may be in place for longer than stated above. Roads affected by the closure are as follows:

  • Ashton New Road – between Alan Turing Way and Hillkirk Street
  • Grey Mare Lane – between Ashton New Road and Alan Turing Way

In the event that there are unique road closures, we will communicate this to fans. For further information about the match-by-match updates, visit here.
