Georgi Kinkladze said in 1997 that “the fans are unbelievable at this Club and I owe them so much.” This sentiment echoes the main reason why I stood to be the Under 25 representative. For the best part of two decades, I have followed Manchester City across the length and breadth of the United Kingdom and to some of Europe’s furthest reaches. Whilst the football has produced varying success, the people that have accompanied me on this journey have provided me with memories to last a lifetime and a sense of belonging whilst I grew up.
City Matters represents a chance to pay thanks to those fellow supporters by representing their interests, but also an opportunity to ensure that those great moments that defined my youth are replicated for my fellow fans. My experience over that time - 15 years as a Seasoncard holder - fills me with the confidence that I possess the insight and knowledge to accurately reflect the views of supporters under the age of 25.
I work in local government – having recently graduated from university – and I hope to utilise the analytical and organisational skills that I have developed for the benefit of City Matters.
