Nick Cushing was left delighted after watching City put five past an already relegated Crystal Palace side.
Despite falling behind twice in the first half, braces from Kerolin and Rebecca Knaak, as well as a smart Jill Roord finish, saw us pick up all three points.
After a season of falling just short in the race for the UEFA Women’s Champions League, Cushing has no doubt we’ll be back pushing at the top end once again next season.
“We’re not that far away,” Cushing said post-match. “There are a few things we need to fix and strengthen the team, but that’s part of the game.
“I’m fully confident that next season, this team will be back competing for trophies.
“I’ve really enjoyed it (being back at City) and being back here has been a proud moment and the responsibility of leading this one I take really seriously because it’s close to my heart.”
