In an end-to-end affair, the Londoners edged a seven-goal thriller at the Joie Stadium to win 4-3 despite the Australian scoring twice for the Blues.
The 21-year-old’s first saw her bravely head home to half the deficit after the Gunners had raced into a two-goal lead.
After further strikes from Vivianne Miedema and Frida Maanum, Fowler levelled for the hosts from the penalty spot before Stina Blackstenius restored Arsenal’s advantage.
However, Gareth Taylor’s side and Renee Slegers’ team will lock horns again in in four days’ time in the Subway League Cup semi-final on Thursday 6 February at 19:00 (UK).
And Fowler believes the last-four tie at Meadow Park represents the best possible opportunity to bounce back to Sunday’s disappointment.
“There were a lot of positives [to take],” she said.
“It was similar to the Manchester United game, we lost that one and a few days later bounced back.
“We’ve got another opportunity to do that now. We’ll just regroup, forget about this one and go onto the next one.
“I’m looking forward to it.”
