Gareth Taylor says Manchester City supporters should be excited by our January acquisitions.

Across the past month, the Club bolstered our squad with four new players as we look to compete on four fronts during the second half of the term.

Commanding German defender Rebecca Knaak and Japan youth international Aemu Oyama were the first two through the door for the Blues, joining from Rosengard and Waseda University respectively.

Our business continued with Brazil international and 2023 National Women’s Soccer League’s Player of the Year Kerolin Nicoli signing on the dotted line the following week.

The Blues then concluded with the deadline day capture of Laura Wienroither on loan from Arsenal until the end of 2024/25.

For the boss, he’s delighted to add the quartet to his ranks but stressed the importance of easing them into action.

“[Our supporters] should be really excited because we have good players,” he said.

“Kerolin is an exciting talent and we’re really pleased to have acquired her. We have to understand the same with her as [Aemu] Oyama and Laura [Wienroither] when she arrives next week.

“I think it’s going to be really key, that we try to get as much work into them as possible. For the likes of Laura, coming from a different environment and club, is learning our way.

“The other players we’ve spoken about more recently, Rebecca Knaak has come in and done really well for us in that period and helped the team.

“I think it’s just managing the players loads. Some of them have come off the back of a break in the season like Kerolin and Oyama.

“Getting them up to speed is going to be key for us.”
