A Barclays Women’s Super League thriller beckons at the Joie Stadium on Sunday.

City host Arsenal in our final home match of the season knowing a positive result could be enough to be crowned champions for the first time in eight years.

Gareth Taylor’s side, chasing a record 15th successive league win in a row, are in the driver’s seat for the WSL crown, sitting six points clear at the top having played one extra match.

While City could also seal the title with a draw and a Chelsea defeat, a win for the hosts would move us within touching distance of England’s top prize, regardless of Emma Hayes’ side’s result.

But against an Arsenal side who have lost just one of their last seven WSL matches, we’ll need to be at our best to make that happen.

We’ve faced the Gunners twice already this season, both at Meadow Park, with a win apiece for each side.

In the league, Arsenal grabbed a late 2-1 win, but City responded in style with a 1-0 triumph in the FA Cup a few months later.

It all points towards another thrilling showdown on Sunday, on an already emotional afternoon for the Club as our legendary captain, Steph Houghton, prepares for her final home match before retirement.
