With league leaders Chelsea overcoming Everton, it was essential that City continued their phenomenal run of form against Bristol City to close the gap on top spot back to two points.
And they didn’t disappoint, dominating throughout to break our previous longest winning streak in the WSL, set by Nick Cushing between May 2017 and January 2018.
Our opponents held firm in the second 45, defending doggedly as they searched for a route back into the game, but as it reached its dying embers and the spaces began to open, City went in for the kill.
After creating a flurry of late chances, we were eventually rewarded with a third goal in the 89th minute, Sam Mewis heading home after Janine Beckie’s initial effort had been parried into the air by Vixens' stopper Sophie Baggaley.
