City were looking to make it three wins in three – the first time we’d opened with a trio of victories since the first season of Pep Guardiola’s reign in 2016/17.
It looked like we were on track to do that when Erling Haaland headed home just past the hour mark to make it 1-0 to the sky blues.
With City attacking at will throughout the Bramall Lane contest and now searching for a second, it looked unlikely that the Blades would be able to come back into the contest.
But that’s exactly what happened when substitute Jayden Bogle fired home with just five minutes left on the clock.
Rather than letting heads drop, City – Treble winners for a reason! – hunted a decisive and deserved second.
And our persistence was rewarded right at the death when Rodrigo, a driving force in the centre of the park throughout, blasted home a wonder winner to send the away fans home very happy.
