Watch players' tributes after Sergio Aguero broke City goals record

Sergio Aguero will leave Manchester City at the end of his current contract, as he brings to an end his storied 10-year career at the Etihad Stadium.

The Club’s record goalscorer, Aguero will depart having proven himself to be one of City’s greatest ever players and having given the Club the greatest moment in its history on that crazy day in May 2012.

His stoppage time winner against Queens Park Rangers saw us crowned Premier League champions for the first time and since then he has gone on to enjoy many more memorable occasions.

At the time of writing, he has scored 257 goals in 384 appearances and lifted 10 major trophies, including four Premier League titles, an FA Cup and five League Cups.

Sergio’s contribution to Manchester City will be celebrated when he officially leaves in the summer, but tonight is a chance to enjoy everything that is great about our No.10.

In November 2017 he became City’s greatest ever goalscorer when he netted his 178th goal in a 4-2 win over Napoli to break Eric Brook’s 78-year record.

After writing himself into the history books, team-mates past and present paid tribute to the Argentine and you can watch what Kevin De Bruyne, Fernandinho, Gabriel Jesus, Edin Dzeko and Joe Hart, amongst others, had to say in the video above.
