Savinho has urged City to dust themselves down, seek improvement, and bounce back from the 5-1 Premier League defeat to Arsenal.

The hosts raced into the lead after just two minutes through Martin Odegaard, before Erling Haaland levelled shortly after the break with a bullet header.

Thomas Partey restored the lead for the Gunners, before further goals from Myles Lewis-Skelly, Kai Havertz and Ethan Nwaneri saw City fall to a first league defeat in 2025.

Savinho, who set up Haaland’s leveller with a precise cross, admitted the defeat was tough to take but has called for the team to lift themselves ahead of some key fixtures across multiple competitions.

“It’s a really tough result to take today,” he said after the game at the Emirates Stadium.

“It’s a really hard scoreline to accept and one that we can’t go home accepting.

“We have got to lift our head now, and look at how we can improve and take it forward into our next games.

“When I arrived at this Club I said one of the great things is that, even though sometimes we might lose, every two days we have a new opportunity to right these wrongs.

“So now it’s about showing our talent and showing what we can do on the pitch and putting it right.”
