Our captain’s comments follow Erling Haaland’s reaction to our 3-0 Premier League win at Liverpool, where the Blues dug deep to record a deserved three points.
City had won just two Premier League matches at Anfield since the turn of the millennium, but second half strikes from Haaland, Jérémy Doku and Rayan Cherki maintained our 100% start to the domestic campaign.
With another huge encounter on the horizon against European champions Paris Saint-Germain, Dias has praised the players’ attitudes on and off the pitch.
Starting with Erling’s comments and influence, he said: “Obviously, he’s one of us. He’s important, just as everyone else in the team is.

“He talked about mental strength and it’s one to bring out, how calm everyone has been in the situation and mentally strong.
“Focused on doing their job, nothing else, obviously trusting the club and playing with a smile on their face. I feel like that shows a lot of character.”
Arriving in Manchester as two-time defending European champions, the Etihad Stadium will host a fascinating tie on Wednesday at 20:00 (UK).
City are looking to make it nine wins in a row in all competitions but know we’ll need to be at our best to make that happen against a side packed with world class talent, some of whom are Dias’ Portuguese international team-mates.
Our captain didn’t shy away from the quality our opponents possess but equally is confident we can get a result if we hit our top level.
Asked whether PSG can add a third European crown to their trophy cabinet in 2026/27, Dias said: “Well, hopefully they cannot. They’re obviously a great team and there’s no way not to say it.
“I personally know a few of their players and how good they are. You can see the flexibility they have in each moment of the game.
“Those Portuguese players are also a reflection of the rest of the team. You need to be very good to beat them, and that’s what we’re aiming for.”
