We continue our countdown of 10 of the best pre-season friendlies in Manchester City’s recent history with an exciting comeback victory over Chelsea in May 2013.

Meeting in the first of two games with the Londoners on a post season American tour in St Louis, City – with Brian Kidd acting as caretaker manager – found ourselves 3-0 down at the break despite dominating the first half.

Demba Ba, César Azpilicueta and Oscar all found the target to put City on the back foot.

However, Javi García struck to inspire what would prove a remarkable fightback.

In front of a sell-out 46,000 crowd at the Busch Stadium – home of the St Louis Cardinals baseball team – a brilliant brace from Edin Dzeko then drew us level.

And a thrilling comeback was then sealed when Micah Richards grabbed a late winner to once again demonstrate that City could marry character alongside our undoubted class.
