Alongside a number of established first team players, a host of emerging talent were also handed an opportunity to impress with the boss making 10 outfield changes at the break – and second half substitute Sam Edozie's strike adding to Riyad Mahrez’s first half opener.
“All of them (the young players) were really good,” the boss asserted.
“The team is in a good condition, they were committed, they did really well.
“We’re going to have the feeling day by day that we feel better. Tomorrow, we train again.”
And looking ahead to Saturday’s second pre-season friendly at home to Barnsley, Guardiola outlined the main priorities for the squad.
“Recover the principles, they have to restart to feel comfortable on the pitch and the more games we play, the better we will feel.”
