Pep Guardiola was full of praise for Jack Grealish in Friday's press conference at the City Football Academy.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s 191st Manchester derby at Old Trafford, the manager reflected on Grealish’s excellent performance against BSC Young Boys earlier this week.

The England international started the game in Switzerland and was a threat down the left wing throughout the night.

PREVIEW: MANCHESTER UNITED V CITY

Grealish has not started in the Premier League since picking up an injury in the August victory over Sheffield United but Guardiola says he remains a pivotal part of his plans.

“The plan is for him to play like he did in Switzerland,” he said.

“We trust a lot in him. We know his ability and he has to fight with his mates to play a lot and play as best as possible in every single action, every single minute, every single game.

“We need him, we need everyone. I am very pleased for the game he played.”
