Pep Guardiola believes City will win many more games this season if we can repeat our performance against Newcastle United.

Bernardo Silva put us ahead midway through the first half with a deft flick before quickfire strikes from Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon turned it around.

Kevin De Bruyne‘s second-half introduction proved the turning point in our favour as the Belgian scored just five minutes after entering the pitch before setting up Oscar Bobb for a dramatic 91st minute winner.

Although the three points came in dramatic circumstances, City were the dominant team throughout the game.

We had 20 shots to Newcastle’s seven and 13 corners to Newcastle’s three, while we enjoyed 73% of the ball.

The result leaves us two points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool and Guardiola believes more displays like that one will give us a good chance of a fourth successive title.

“I think everyone is agreed we had a lot of pressure here at St James’ Park against Newcastle - the most physicality of a team we saw,” he said.

“They made transitions when we concede two goals and the keeper saved the ball and they make two passes - like Liverpool.

“But what is the difference is if we perform like we did today, we’re going to win.

“As a manager, what could I say at half-time? You are amazing. Stick with it and we will do it.

“But it was the same against Spurs, Palace, Liverpool. We drop points and at that moment it’s a big crisis for you.”
