Guardiola admitted he has been impressed with his team’s efforts and has been pleased with how we have controlled games in recent weeks.

“We are in a good moment in the way we are playing,” he said at his post-match press conference.

“This is my only concern because after the results will come.

“We are playing good. We are playing how we want - to have a lot of control through the ball. The best way to defend is to have the ball and we have it.

“Every pass and every movement has sense. Everyone is in his position. We are doing well and hopefully that can continue on Saturday [against Everton].

“A few weeks ago we were there and we fought and struggled a lot to win and it will be the same because it is a final. We will prepare and be ready for that.”
