Pep Guardiola has called on his players to be themselves in Wednesday's Champions League semi-final second leg with Real Madrid.

After a 1-1 draw in last week’s first leg, we go into the Etihad clash knowing that victory would see us through to a second Champions League final in three seasons.

With such a huge prize on the line and a raucous atmosphere expected, Guardiola knows how difficult it will be to overcome Carlo Ancelotti’s defending European champions.

However, the boss insists the best way to be at their best is for his players to keep their cool.

“We have to perform well,” he said during his pre-match press conference on Tuesday.

“In the mind and heart of the players they have to make an incredible performance to beat Madrid or it’ll be so difficult.

“Football has things you can’t control. Just be yourself, this is my only wish tomorrow for my players.”
