Pep Guardiola says the players and his staff help keep him energised with the City boss midway through his eighth season at the Etihad Stadium.

With Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp set to leave Anfield at the end of the season, he will become the longest-serving manager in the Premier League.

Guardiola is also aiming to become the first manager to win four successive Premier League titles and is targeting a victory against Burnley at the Etihad on Wednesday night at 19:30 (UK).

And he says his players’ ability to keep challenging for trophies helps maintain his energy levels with their desire to keep winning proven by winning the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup already this season.

“I have incredible staff that support me and do the jobs that sometimes I am tired of doing, after many years,” he said. “I have more quality as a manager in terms of I select better the time to work and the time to disconnect a little bit.
