Allan Elias says playing futsal in his formative years gave him the technical ability that has earned him his move to City.

Our new Brazilian winger has put pen to paper on a five-year deal at the Etihad Stadium, subject to international clearance, after starring for Palmeiras in the Brazilian Serie A.

A tricky winger capable of beating his man, delivering wicked crosses or going for goal himself, the 22-year-old appears an exciting addition to Enzo Maresca’s developing squad.

And our new man believes futsal proved a foundation of his on-pitch traits.

“I had good years of futsal,” Allan said in his first City Studios interview.

“Until I was 14 years old I played futsal, so I think that helped me a lot when I migrated to the field.

“I am a winger, I play on the sides. I can play inside too, as a midfielder but I play on the wing.

“My strength is dribbling, my style of playing, I have strength and I believe.”
