Palmer 'over the moon' with first City goal

Cole Palmer was delighted to score his first City goal in our 6-1 victory over Wycombe Wanderers, and believes that he is settling into the first team life well.

The teenager opened his senior account with a sumptuous 20-yard strike in the latter stages of our Carabao Cup victory at the Etihad Stadium.

It rounded off a great evening for Pep Guardiola's side, with efforts from Kevin De Bruyne, Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden and Ferran Torres delivering a comprehensive victory for the Blues.

It was certainly a night to remember for Academy graduate Palmer, who was thrilled to play his part in a convincing victory.

"I'm over the moon and absolutely buzzing to score my first goal and to go through to the next round," he told

"When I got the ball on the halfway line I thought 'I'm not looking back, just thought 'I'm going.'

"I drove and drove at the defender, the defender dropped off I thought 'I'm going to take it' and thankfully it went in."

Palmer also discusses the year since he made his senior City debut, as well as what it means for the other six academy graduates who made their debuts at the Etihad on Tuesday night.
