Ortega Moreno, who played the entire 90 minutes at St James' Park, was encouraged by the overall display from the team, but was downbeat about the result.
"I think the performance was quite well," he said.
"We had a lot of rotation today. How we played was really good against this tough opponent. They press all the time. We had a lot of ball possession and tried to play our style of football.
"We had a lot of young players. It was tough today. At the end, I'm disappointed about the result.
"I think they only had one or two chances today, not more. So it's unlucky."
